I've used www.110mb.com for free hosting and have to say they have done a good job, though it can be a little flaky as each new server fills up with customers.

Don't worry too much about that, though - they are signing up so fast that they quickly move on to the next box!

From memory, I think you can use the domain name they give you, or you can buy one elsewhere and have them host it FOC.

 

If you want to check out a live site, have a look at kinross-shire.org.uk (It works with or without the www. but seems quicker without it, though I don't know why)
