Default Correct way to line up distributor/phase sensor on a 4x4???

I believe this is different to 2WD????
I have heard this can cause massive overfuelling if not done correctly, i suspect this may be the case with my car, and even if not its worth checking. RStoughy told me before how to do it but I can't remember exactly so I'd like to check.
