Quick MOT question
Can't remember which way to turn the screw in the ecu (4x4 saph) to lean the emmisions for the MOT. Anyone know which way please? Got the MOT in a couple of hours and want it set right as it will definately at the moment as set to run rich.
Cheers.
Cheers.

Hello mate, turn it anti clockwise to lean it off, but you need to get it checked as there is no reason at all that any cosworth should be illegal for use on UK roads and in some counties they are now impounding your car Via roadside checks for this offence. get it fixed before it happens to you.

Cheers Stu. Its an ahmed bayjoo stage 1 chip but I got it set up at Engine Advantages. Paul said he sets them to run a bit rich as a safeguard.

I assumed he mean as opposed to a bit lean, but i'm not a tuner so assumed it was correct. I guess you're saying it shouldn't run rich or lean but spot on?

As far as i am concerned, the car is here because i am a Tuner, So i do what you pay me to do, and Tune it.
Of course there are various reasons to err on the side of caution if you dont actually have access to the car, but if you have access to it, then i guess its either tuned safe or its not. Lets face it, we arent talking about a tad rich for increased Exhaust gas temperature stabilisation flat out at 7000rpm with lots of boost, i wouldnt question that, but we are talking about rich for safety when its sat idling outside your house, and primarily, all the time you want it to be economical, im guessing it wont be as good as it can be due to the fact the CO screw has more bias towards slow speed and load than high. Ahmeds chips are fine and fuel perfectly well at idle so its unlikely to be an issue with that.
Fact is, you cant really hurt a YB with lean mixtues under those conditions so why run more fuel than it needs and throw it down the exhaust/bores or into the ? Especially at todays prices!
