Default Airtec intercoolers

Hi.

What do people think of Airtec front mounted intercoolers. Are they any good and is anyone using one on an s2?

Thanks.

Yeah i would reccomend them, only thing with front mounts your rst will run hotter as they restrict the air flow to the rad so might be an idea to run a lower temp stat in it say 82 deg.

also you have to cut a fair bit out the bumper if its an 80 spec

Thanks coswurv.

Would I be able to get the lower temp stat from Fords and if so, how easy are they to fit. I don't suppose you know the part number by any chance.

Thanks.

The more info I can get on these intercooler the better, cos I'm hoping to order one, depending on how favourable the replies are.

Thanks.

well people say they are a shit fit but at the end of the day the dimentions for front mounts are all pretty much the same as theres only so much room to fit them in so dont listen to that, here's some pics of one setup i fitted on a zvh i built and after the rolling road setup i got good afr numbers etc so the cooler was doing its job,

Most of the coolers are much of a muchness, as said above the are are simular size, so the only difference really would be the design of the end tanks for better flow.

The only cooler that has really stood out amongst the crowd (for the S1 as this is what I have looked into, but have heard the same for S2) is the GRS twin pass cooler.

boothy, when you say you have one on your s2, what type is it. Is it the one with the removable side plate and fans to the rear, or the slightly larger one with fans to the front.

Thanks

Gaz.
