They are identical in as much as they are a variable resistor which is linked to the butterfly linkage in the inlet tract.
They are different in that when the 2wd shows low resistance, the 4x4 one shows high and vice versa.
You can therefore use a 4x4 TPS with an L6 ECU, provided you swap two wires round in the connector to the TPS so it behaves like a 2wd one, and vice versa.
There is no advantage in using one or the other though provided you have the wiring done properly.
Hope this helps

The PF01 is open circuit at idle, the PF09 isnt, so neither will operate correctly on the wrong weber ECU. Theya re also wired inverse to each other as Gregg points out.
On aftermarket, i tend to use a PF09 as many aftermarket will see the open circuit attribute of the PF01 as a wiring error.

I stand corrected by the master
I am surprised that you say they won't work correctly with the wrong ecu though, since many people will run a 4x4 TPS on L6 with the wires swapped. Is this a case of it works, but not 100% correctly
L6 with 4x4 tps will think the throttle is always slightly on, even if off ???

IIRC If you watch it on a monitor as you back off the throttle when its the wrong way round it goes
