Default Thoughts on high milage escos

Hi. I'm currently looking for an escos and have found a completely standard bt mallard green one.
It has 100k on the clock. Owner says it sounds great, with no noises or any rattling from engine. No smoke either.

My plan with this car is to run it for a couple of years (maybe less..) as a stage three car then rebuild it into a 500+ with uprated parts all round. It's completely standard with all services done. And the price is just right for me. Should I spend more money on a lower milage car? Thoughts on the milage?

you'll have to add about 5k to the price to have it registered on the road.. Prices in norway are a bit higher. normally these cars are around the 19-21k price-tag

Thats without the taxes here... Brings the price up to about Ł16k then Which is bottom of the price range here in Norway.

Looks ok in the pictures, mallard is boring colour in my opinion.

Just to get to the level of looks of the car youre refering to you need, wheels, lowering, big brakes, big rear wing, morette lights and probably something Ive forgotten.
Just thinking about the pricelevel of the car youre looking at, if your bugdet is low, then the cost of getting it to that standard is going to cost quite a bit

well that's the whole idea.. I want to build my own car. not buy something someone else has already built to their specs.

Buy on condition engines are easier than bodywork

it would not put me off looking at it and then making a decision from there. presumably you know what you're looking for in terms of faults etc, and have seen plenty of other examples to compare it against (good and bad)?

even if the engine is in good condition, you still never know when something may fail in the future, but as you have a plan for a major rebuild anyway, it doesn't matter in the long term what condition the mechanical parts are in to some extent as you will be uprating/replacing/reconditioning them anyway. i would be buying an escort cosworth based on body condition, not mechanical.
