Default Removing Modine?

Firstly i'd like to confirm i'm calling this part the right name

Its the standard oil cooler jobbie that has two water pipes going into it, sits between the oil filter and the block on a yb?

Now if i take this out to put a mocal oil cooler in, can i just reroute the original water pipe that goes into it? IE instead of going into modine then the head, can i just go straight to the head, bypassing the modine part?

Thanks in advance

the modine is actually very good though, as it helps to warm the oil up to temp from cold, i wouldnt want to remove it tbh...

I know, but i want to fit a gauge adaptor as i have some wunder plumbing for my oil temp and pressure gauges lol. I already have an oil cooler take off at the end of the 4x4 extension arm, so thats the onlt place i can put the gauge take off.

imo reducing engine wear would be more important,

oil temp should be from sump, and adaptors are available to fit pressure sensors in the block

goodluck anyway

Leave it alone. It is as efficient as a 13 row oil cooler!! And it heats up your oil a lot quicker reducing engine wear as said above.

I have the temp sender in the sump at the moment and the pressure from the oil pressure switch takeoff, its just a bit untidy for my liking lol.

But if removing the modine is going to cause damage i think i'll stick with what i've got.

Got a statted mocal sandwich plate on order too as my car always ran cold witht he non stat plate.

Cheers guys!

So a stat cooler and the modine should see me ok temp wise for road use?

What do you reckon abouit using a 2wd filter to give me clearance to fit the gauge takeoff at the end of the filter extension arm?
