see im undecided. i was going for a t38 but then i know its maxed out at around 460bhp and knowing me il want to have that litte more. so was thining about the t4 or the gt30 but not to sure which one is better for road use. the car will be used on track a little also.

Tough one imo, the RB T38 Sounds a good unit by all accounts,
I think a GT30 would be my choice though, having been in a few now they're a great turbo, never been in a T4 car still...

When are people getting full boost with what turbo is the question i would be asking. Gives you an idea on what might suit you best imo.

im not chasing pub figures but i want a good 300-320rwkw. ie a good 400bhp atw in the future. so dont want to spend 1100 on a t38 and then have to spend another 1200 in a couple months.

Been in an Evo with one radders, very nice drive, good spool up too, obviously as you've stated, the 3076 will allow more top-end..

Yes it does come down to alot of things, still gives you a rough idea though.
My standard RS500 T4 had full boost at 4000-4100rpm and thats on a very basic engine spec.

id think that the roller bearing one would come on boost a good 200rpm quicker at least.

For the money, is 200rpm worth it?
I dont reckon I'd notice 200rpm, in any turbo ca tbh!

there has been alot of work on my overall engine package and I have low back pressure in exh manifold and almost no back pressure in exhaust so Im sure this helps too.
You can buy my exact turbo from CR no so it doesnt have to be sent to AVA for modification.

The thing is most of the RB T4 users are running massive engine specs and with a Proper exhaust that is miles less restrictive.
Euan how much sooner does your car get full boost on the RB T4 compared to the normal one?

so in other words.. that turbo wont be hitting the same effect at the given rpm as yours.

We did a back to back on my old normal T4 and the roller bearing was 400 rpm better I think.

you can see the difference on this graph at the bottom end.
Its a normal T4 against the roller bearing.

Just a shame my cars mapped for a standard version, thats what i will have to buy again as i am fooked if paying for mapping again. I was happy enough with it.
If i hadnt had it mapped already and wanted to spunk all my money on it again, i would go for the RB version.

If like you've said, you'll probably be looking for more power in a few months time etc then i'd i'd take the T38 out of the equation tbh, that'll struggle to probably do 470-480 imo, it's between 2 imo..

i know but mike said the t4 was pointless for me if i cant keep the revs up.and my car will be used 90% on road.

Just learn to change gear quicker
Seriously though I think the reason the T4 never bothered me was because i came from an Integra Type R so was used to having to work hard to keep the revs high.

Looking for around 480bhp.
My CR T4 was around 1600 pounds by the time i got the extra machining work done by them to help it hold power at higher revs.
