Default Any Sky installers or diy installers...........

I've just bought my Dad a sky+ box for his b-day rather than pay the full wack from sky.

I know I've got to get a qaud lnb and run another cable, but is there anything else you have to do, ie contact sky, pay a connection fee etc.... or will it work straight out of the box?? Are they easy to set-up?

Thanks.

you need that quad lnb on your dish, you need a second wire to the sky box cos it has two tuners. you will need to contact sky to activate your pause/recording feature on your sky plus box, it will not just work from the box, you need a subscription !!! sky plus subscription is £10 a month on top of your sky channel package unless you have the full channel pack (sky world) then its free. but even if you have the full subscription, you will still need to contact sky to activate your sky plus functions.

July 2007. Don't think they are too forthcoming about it, maybe you should drop them a call.

sky+ has been free for a while now, you used to have get multi room ontop to get it free.

virgin is quite limited as its cable, im looking for freesat to get more channels up and running before ditching the sky!!

Hmmm We've got it here ourselves but managed to get a good deal and had Sky install it for £150 all in. We dont pay any extra to have it and only have the basic package. ??

My old man has got the full package though....
