Cossie v Skyline
Such a battle is getting close so im asking you lads what you think will happen. Most know on August 10th we have a 1 miles side by side against the JUN Super Lemon, been told even by a close friend that its a no contest, we will get beat, so is that the general consensus.
Will know next week what Power we have to combat the Lemons 1150bhp. We estimate 830bhp + 200 shot so over 1000 for sure, but beat the Lemon, im not so sure of that. A guide is that the only car to beat him at Topspeed is Joels Viper & of course thats the only car to beat mine. No pressure then .
The Toyo sponsorship seems the real deal & they will take over for the next Topspeed event with full tech backup & advice & publicity, ive told them I require 19" Toyo's in a special size to get the gearing.
Also Getting complimentary tickets as their guests for me & the missus to attend the Motorshow, cant believe it, needed this 10years ago.
Wish us luck getting the old girl to the start line on time & ready to rock, think we will need it. Be assured this old geezer will give it the best shot he can .

What speed has this hyper thing actually done then rod and over what distance? Your motor is rapid - so aslong as his grip doesn't give him that much of an advantage I hope you do okay

I figure if you can get grip you must be in with a chance- i'm guessing he'll really gain big advantage off the line though
hope all goes well it should be interesting and really great if you can beat him as marginal as it may be

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
Pretty sure it did just over 200 on the standing mile at TOTB last year. Viper is also doing over 200 there. Sorry Rod, can't remember yours?

Too many posts.. I need a life!!
That super lemon does a 1/4 mile in like 9 secs or just under I think, so will look like he has beaten you, from then on its gotta be down to the timing gear and if you can reel him in. Hopefully you will give it a good run for its money as its quite a bench mark car.

We have no official time at the standing mile ( always come round the bottom bend) but did 210.2 in 1.41miles back in 2005 from a standing start with about 840 horses that suggests well past 200mph in the mile. Hopefully will have around 200 more ponies this time. I cant see us beating him to the mile marker but I think we may post a higher Topspeed thats my take on it.

Lemon's car might be quicker now also.
I think you might have a chance of doing a better trap speed but can't see you getting a time anywhere close.

It's a shame they plan to run you both 'head to head' tbh....i have no real clue as to which will win, i suspect the lemon purely from the power and it's top speed performances, but you have a chance!!! fit an in car bleed valve just in case you need to gain a few lengths

Rod..
Why do you need 19" wheels? why cant you get an 18 or 17witha taller sidewall? surely for this event you could do with every bit of traction help you can get?
Also have you requested the newer softer compound tyres (asuming its R888's as it a road legal shootout etc).
I'm sure you already know this anyway but make sure you do a couple of 100+mph runs up and down the track first as the tyres get massively more grip when heated that way instead of a burnout.
Good luck
