Its not me organising this event they dont want to turn it into a totb for extreme machines. The event limit is 800bhp & fully trimmed & will remain at that so it will be for more normal modded cars of which their are far more than extreme ones. They are not interested in cars like mine or Micks they can enter totb. It will be like totb 1 & 2, several sponsors believe there is a market for such an event kept at that level.

Ive entered nothing in fact I was turned down even off Nitrous. A tv network wanted to see a 20year old Sierra that had appeared on tv to race against a veyron, just as a gimmick, thats how I got dragged in by Toyo, I snapped their hand off . That fell through so the 1100bhp Skiline that had entered was asked to run in what was for the cameras to be a closely fought exibition run, Mick was fully aware of this.
Believe me ive never had so many options for my car as now, Toyo will take over future attempts on the Cosworth Topspeed record, with full technical support, which is all I care about, its an incredible cue for me after 12 years of slogging away self financing everthing I did.
You not liking my atitude, now let me think, do I really care .

Personally.............I think whoever gets the best traction off the line will be the winner, as for the cars, I think Rod's could win this if the launch is perfect. It's a lighter car, probably less transmission loss.

It'll be down to traction.

Best of luck rod. May it work out for you and good luck with the new sponsers

Will both cars be fully trimmed inside? im not sure if you or someone else has said it or not.

Obviously a 4x4 will get a better start but your car does gain speed very well when it gets into its stride

It just all seems odd, but as you put it as an almost staged demo then I see where you are coming from. It is confusing as it sounds like a competition and you were on about wanting to beat the skyline when really it is just a staged demo run.
I think I am still confused about it tbh, can understand wanting to beat the Veyron at its std power level/reputation/cost etc but choosing power levels with the Skyline seems odd as nobody can "win" anything, but as you have now explained clearly it is only a demo.
I would then find it hard to see why the skyline should want to run, I'm still confused tbh.

I can quite believe you do not care what others or I think, nor should you so we totally agree on that This is only internet chat after all and I should think you have enough life knowledge by now not to threat it.

I can see the events idea but think it may be tricky to get the balance as everyones car will be "sub 800hp" when in reality some cars are plain bananas now! tricky one to police. A form of bracket racing I suppose.

I agree the sub 800bhp thing will get abused.

Last year every vauxhall at TOTB was entered as "300bhp" but reality is some of them are nearer 500 and in fact one is over that now.

Well lets say we wont try to finish second . It was to drum up support for tickets amongst the Cossie boys, it seems to be turning sour .

In all honesty this thread has almost certainly killed off that Demo run which is a pity for the organisers who were trying to add a bit of spice.
From a personal point of view im interested in Toyo support after this event as getting my car ready for 10th Ausust means working 24/7, Id be happier if we dont have to run to be honest as the car will arrive virtually untested.

Rod you are still talking about "winning" a "demo" in which you want to see restricted power outputs. Confusing

I find Rods attitude very fresh. They simply wanted to demo 2 1000hp cars, with a close result for dramatic viewing. Now if one of these cars has 1500hp, then it all stops becoming relavant, just as putting the Lemon against 5000hp dragster would be rather pointless. So far, the simple solution would be for Mick to run without gas, and Rod with.
