Anyway, can you post up a side shot of the car, so that we can view the distance from the leading edge of the front tyre, to the rear edge of the front bumper? Someone who actually understands these things may be able to offer a suggestion if something is amiss here .

Yes Mike, ive spotted the difference, its that the wheel is a different size.

Its bigger on the one with less caster.

You're correct, but there is a reason for the different caster (which Tony has sussed what is being hinted at ).

The RS500s run a different front ARB, which gives much improved stability due to changing the front caster . The standard 3dr doesn't have enough .

You can pikey it up to add more caster as well by spacing it forward with washers, drop Fudgey or Stav a PM as they have done it on sierras and may have photos etc.

sorry to break some more bad news but the H14 front arb was changed mid build run on the 3drs, so a large number of the 5000 of them had them fitted as standard, which is why all the 500s had them as they were from the end of the production run, and Ford recalled the earlier 3drs to retro fit the H14 as well, so the H14s are as rare as a reyland big up on passionford.

If you look on the top part of the front arb where it narrows to go through the tca on the drivers side the H number is stamped there.

Check, but it doesnt look like it has in the picture, it really is hard to tell though, especially if there is any steering angle on when you take the photo.

Yes (it doesn't look like you have it fitted going by the comparison of the RS500 that does) .

But be aware that it "may" push the wheels far enough forward, that in some circumstances you might get the tyres touching the spoiler (due to your bigger wheels). However, it will improve stability.

A big shout-out needs to go to Ahmed for the info .

lots could of happened to the car in the last 20 years since it was built, only way to really tell is whip off the drivers side front wheel and wipe away any crud on the top of the arb where it slots into the tca and thats where your h number will be.
