Default Engine Conversion advice....

Right ive seen locally a car for sale... its a sierra sapphire 2.0 4x4 ghia (1992) and like a magenta colour.

Im NOT in a position to buy a full blown cos tbh at the minute (little one on way) BUT if this car was converted to have either a 2.9 engine fitted or even a cossy engine, what would i need to change??

I am assuming that the looms would need to. Other than that, whats the best cheap option for me and what kind of power gains could i have from the 2.9?

Or should i simply leave the 2.0 in? If so what could be changed on that to gain more power. My idea is to keep it sleeper style.

Cheers

to go the 2.9 v6, i take it you want 24v? as if not stick with the 2.0 lol

if its the 24v you need
v6 xr4x4 gearbox and props
front and rear diff,driveshafts
engine cradle, steering rack
flywheel and clutch

24v bits needed
engine
loom and ecu
most of the ancillarys from a granada

cossie is easy, everything for a 4wd cossie lol

its just engine looms you need, granada i dont know how hard to do, but a cosy is only 6 wires and will plg straight up alls you have to do is swap 1 pin on a connector

Agree 100%, and it will be worth pretty much what you pay for it when you come to sell it. And it WILL cost you more in the long run, you can pick up a tidy cossie for under 4k now, save yourself the time and hassle IMHO.

Save up.
