Still enjoyed it and IT WILL be fixed for Snetterton!

i was thinking about the risk of having a gas bottle in the car, mallory park told me to remove the gas bottle when i was there last year.

Well potentially its a heavier bottle and a lot more pressure than in a foam extinguisher like are common on cars, no different to a CO2 one though.

Just got back home, had a top weekend. Did the road trip up to Townley Park for the show there today. Glad the weather was a LOT better at Combe though, lol. I am definately going back next year.

p.s. Is the guy who was taking pics of the convoy from the bridge a user off here? If so what did the pics look like?

Had a great day even though i had to stop using the Escort because it started dropping out of 3rd gear (new dog rings needed) but all was not lost as the yellow peril was then used and didn't let me down. I will make it a priority to increase the boost before I use it next.

Sorry to all those that didn't get a passenger ride.

Thanks to all the Combe folk

Great weekend had although the car was not running yet i brought it along.....
on the Fast Ford stand.

Good to meet some more faces from PF.

Camping Friday night was class but im sooooo tired from it still.
Thank goodness i bought the Gayzebo for Fri night although by the time i went back yesterday afternoon it was smashed to smitherins.

R.I.P -

made the night what it was being able to sit out of the rain and wind.
even though there was about 12 lads and Nash's poor girlfriend having to put up with our ladish ways...PMSL.

Next up is Ford Fair cant wait! Hopefully the wind and rain will stay well away.

Highlight of the show was that Green Mk2 drifting DEDICATED 110% into Camp corner. Amazing!!!!

Sorry to see the bendy bit Stu - the car looks better and better every time I see it. I remember first poking round it at Bedford a good couple of years back if not more.

So much carbon

I'm sure the people who did the work will get a roasting from you! Would have been great to see the car out but obviously not to be this time!

Are you booked on for National Day at all?

Yeah good plan, don't want to get overtaken by a pair of Evos again do ya!

As said yesterday evening, damn that little car goes well! Sounds like next time things will be different as I can't afford to up the power due to all my money going on the petrol my car guzzles!

Wondered why the Escort was parked up, I had Cossie Helen with me and she was gutted to miss out on her laps with you, she had the yellow band on from the start of the day! She had to make do with a run in my Evo, which lets face it, isn't entirely the same

I did try my best to hold you both off but you guys having more power and 4 wheel drive didn't help The Rover originally had 1.5 bar boost when I built it but for some reason it has only had 1.2 bar for ages now, I will just put it back upto the original 1.5 and see how we get on

Were you on 048's or slicks? The Rover was on 888's, I was well pleased with them and even at the end of the day when it rained I was still able to press on quite well.

Hi Martin,

I was on Yoko A048s. I'm not a huge fan of them - I really prefer my R888s.

My brother was using the R888s we had off you recently, although he has killed them in a couple of months as we have done track days every weekend for the last few weeks.

A048s seem to last ok, but take a little more heat to work well - my first laps out on them always result in odd rear end slides that as a 4x4 and FWD man are not to my taste!

Shame Combe don't allow slicks (unless you're special, an MSA log book holder, or Marco who runs them on the side of the car not facing the marshalls!)

I've often found R888s are still great even in mild rain - only standing water needs common sense. People that knock them (few and far between) really don't know what they're on about!

I'll need some more for my own car before the end of the year, shame funds don't allow right now hence running some old A048s for as long as they last...

What sort of power does 1.2 and 1.5 bar bring? My car at 319 bhp and 1478 kgs really struggles to get past any FWD car with 200 bhp and above

I have a carbon bonnet and boot at home, but I really need to do what Hayden did with his Evo when he brought it up to you - strip it, cage it, perspex windows etc, plus a tad more power.

Damn lack of Łs though

Si

Had a spot on Fri nite and an even better sat on track, bring on next year.
Thanks for the plugs mate. They didn't cure my missfire unfortunatley. But worse than that as i was changing them the wind ripped the bonnet from its stay and smashed my windscreen and mangled my bonnet. Bad times lol

SKyline was going very well Rob. Great driving. My Blue one loved it around there as well!

I had a great day at Combe. Kicked the hell out of both cars on track all day and they were both faultless.

only problem was a broken wheel stud and a fualty fuel sender! other than that. Both cars drove there, got death and drove home!

Well done Martoon. Great prep mate

Thought it was a very good day !

Jus a shame the Saph was 3/4 of a db over the limit & me not taking enought money wit me to put her on track !

Would of been a giggle lol

Was really impressed wit a few motas out there, the reyland boys obviously as the prep work on these cars are 2nd to none ! Maria in the porche ! Well done babez !

And especially the ABC Escort !

Think I owe Danny an apology as I honestly though it wasn't gonna be up to much when it got out on track, but how worng could I be ? The thing flew & sounded sweet !

Well done boys,

jb

P.s. A very VERY big thank you to jim for takin me out for quite a few laps ! He could see I was all sulky for not bein out there & offered the passenger seat for me !

Hope he didn't get too annoyed wit me shoutin sideways all the time, think he took the hint tho as when it started rainin the car was everywhere but straight & Jim really impressed me wit his car control ! Cheers matey !
