Default boost question

how do you turn the boost down on a sierra saff cos and how do you know when its at a safe level without doing damage to the turbo or engine(no boost gauges in the car)

why do u want to turnn the boost down?what spec?whos chip etc?generally i would say let a tuner do it!or at least get in contact with whoevers wrote the chip

i havent got the car yet and im asking just in case i buy a cosworth and the boost is too high and ends up damaging the car.
when living in spain.there aint alot of rs mechanics around in spain to sort the problems.

i see well in truth is best not to touch anything without asking who wrote the chip!but if needed u just lengthen the actuator rod,by roughly a turn should be enough

thought you were buying a t5 volvo?

as above; just make the actuator rod longer; but if the car is chipped/ set up it might cause issue with fuelling etc

you'll need a few turns of the rod to feel any effect; i think i read somewhere that 1 turn equates to 1 psi (not sure how true that is tho)

The ONLY way to know its safe IMHO is a set of det cans and an AFR gauge.

Perfectly possible to melt a cossie engine at half a bar of boost if its not setup right!
