Default missis is buying a sweetie shop lol

right next door to the two schools were my kids go theres a little sweet shop, you know the type, lots pick and mix, tubs on shelfs, traditional sweeties

we know the chap and he selling up, its only a rented shop so buying the business is basicly cheap as chips, as a going concern and stock etc

wifeys agreed to buying it at a price subject to the books, just so hapens that our accountant is also his

anyways v proud of my wife as shes been a housewife for the last 6 years, will never make massive money but it will tick over and make a income enough to live on in addition to what i do etc

wondering about the fact of internet sales of traditional sweets, costs of setting such a thing up security etc?

needs renaming too and in my opinion the shop looks crap needs to look more like a sweetie shop to draw them in although the school trade is roaring as the two schools are pre school and first school so all adults picking kids up end up getting dragged in lol

gonna be awful after a few spliffs at night tho owning a sweet shop

Nice one. Just don't do what the small shop in Leamington Spa did; they started selling those cigarette copy candy sticks and ended up in the local rag with a load of bad press!!

Obviously people are concerned with obesity etc the days but everyone loves sweets and if you can find an angle to promote healthy eating along with sweets you'd be on to a winner......

on question for the ppl in the know

the shop has been running 18 months, its set up as a ltd company and it was mentioned it was all set up for cheaper tax he wont have to pay it or gets a reduced rate or somin along those lines

this is something we will be discussing with him and the accountant next week so at mo somewhat in the dark

soooo

whos liable for the 18 months worth of tax if theres none been paid yet? i know its all above board i just dont have a clue.

from what i can gather at the mo him and his wife take a minimum wage each week each, then at the end of the year the profits get shared between the shareholders (them)?

is this making any sence to anyone? lol

to be honest i think we will want to run it normally with books done yearly etc
