twin lights on a mk4 look gash.. Only on an escos do original morettes remotely look nice, and even then I would leave them off....

But what does it matter what engine is in it? Would that be a shit car if it had a 1.3 engine in it. Would it then instantly look shit??

Mine was converted to run sidelights, dipped and main beam in the two outer lamps and the inners were removed.

It passed MOT's fine every time.

Differences between his and the car he chose to picture;

Bif front mount
Splitter
Chopped 90spec bumper
Bonnet pins
Bonnet raisers

Was just making a point about the engine, as i remembered the car, i agree it is irrelevant though, the point i was making was the aesthetic differences.

Thought as much, was just checkin though.

I know what you mean about his car and that one but it could possibly look ok.

Im sitting on the fence till I see the actual car in question with the lights in.

ive got mine converted to hid lights like smit

as all four lenses flash on full beam anyway. i carnt see a problem with the mot removing the inners

In answer to the question... They can look excellent, like they do above, but on a standard S2/Mk4 escort they look pretty out of place i rekon. Hit and miss.

I thought about fitting them to my Series 2, but decided against it in the end as I didn't really like the design of them

obviously it wont look anythink like that, i havnt got big alloys, rst kit etc...

like i said i havnt got any pics as yet, but im going to have a crack at modding them today, and going to put a skim of filler on the one as its got a few pits in it..

not sure whether to do them silver to match the car or black to match the bumpers and wheels..

will try and get some pics this evening..

just popped in for abit as it was pissing down...

managed to prep them now, one was in ok condition, but the other was awful, cracked quite bad in 3 places and been filled before very badly..

but now there both finished and ready for some primer and spraying..

personally i thought i was ok at bodywork (practice makes you better obviously) but how well ive done these lights its realy suprised me, very chuffed with how well ive done them

may get some primer, paint and laquer later, if not the pics will just have to be of them how they are now...

hopefully il get them all mounted aswell (if the weather clears up)

realy not sure of the colour though, colour coded to the car, black to match the wheels, or anthracite so they still look very dark, but then will blend in tiny bit...

what do people think of the colour i should do them in?

Dan's car was awesome, it was 301bhp on a 1.9 CVH IIRC mate

As has been said, anything else other than modded Genuine RST and I think the Mk4 Escort twin lights are shit!

They don't look right on lesser models IMO.

look worse than i thught they would TBH. realy dislike the number plate too. looks silly to move the numberplate for no practical reason, especially if you leave the original enclosure there!

rest of the car looks nice tho just make sure the black bits stay really black (even if they need painting) and the rest of the bodyworks is clean and tidy

thanks for your opinion chap..

im getting bits of the bodywork sorted soon i hope, and the bumpers/trim are kept black by auto glym bumper car

moved the bumber plate there so i could have holes in the front bumper, so i can get more cold air into the bay...

i don't think it looks that bad actually. would help if they were the same colour as the car or maybe black i reckon, same as the wheels. at the moment it looks kind of like you tried to match the colour but got it wrong somewhere down the line imo
