Good weekend for us meeting people and putting new faces to names despite me being full of man flu and having a sore throat and voice that sounded like a cyborg lol
Maybe it was just me as its one of the first times I didnt even go on the pit wall but the atmosphere was just different this year not quite as 'buzzing' ??
We had a good day with lots of firm enquirys I now need to follow up
Thanks to everyone who put in an effort on the organising teams

Other than a couple having a full on argument outside my tent at stupid oclock in the morning I had a top top weekend...
Highlights included Team AG being directly opposite our stand on the Saturday also a low light seeing 2 of them looking rather worse for ware...
Martin Escos was simply Stunning... We all knew it would be.
Missed a chance to go out with Nick in the PF Rat Racer (sorry Nick) as the stand was busy.
The Mk3 MTS Escort was my fave Track Car... it just kept going and sounded wicked on the TB's.
Went for a walk to the Chequers Pub in the Village, wont make that mistake again.
FST will 100% be back next year and my Car WILL be on track.

The silver evo was the one that sounded like a jet.
probably cos it had its bung in the exhaust restricting it, the noise is caused by the increased speed of the exhaust gas.
ALot of standard turbo cars sound the same on boost but are quieter....a sure sign the exhaust is too small.

Car of the day (sat) for me was the Sunbeam
How Łucking quick was that thing when it was wound up
Real shame it never lasted though
Cars of the day (Sun) were the two i was out with.
Paul with the 500 always great to catch up with you bud and it was excelent fun while it lasted although a little more hectic than id planned
And Spiky with the 205 was great meeting you M8 and very kind of you to take me out for the session
Only problem now is that my good 205 GTi that i have as an every day runner is about to get the track treatment

Sorry to everyone who had hoped for a charity ride in the sunbeam. We suffered a turbo failure on the 1st session due to a small piece of the air filter being ingested by the turbo! This resulted in the compressor wheel losing most of its blades and ending the day for us!
Its all fixed and ready for retro cars at the pod this weekend though!

As rob said, i have 909 coilovers, full polly bushed front end, front and rear strut braces. Running 17's with soft rally spec kumhos. I also have a solid mounted rose jointed beam to go on aswell. Other than that it's a standard glsi 4x4. I am seriously thinking of putting my chevy v8 and supra box in the fooker to get past those pesky point and squirt merchants, (grey rst and red rs4 to name but a few!).

High Point - Being passenger in PF Nicks car with Jamie from Jamsport driving - the boy can pedal and i was pleasantly surprised how well that car goes for just over 1 bar of boost!
Low Point - Being passenger in Gary (milkman)'s car trying to help him cure a misfire when white smoke started pouring out of the bonnet vents and the heater vents
Was nice to see Jim Semples RS200 out on track being used properly! He's had some terrible luck so was nice to see him enjoying it!

As for tyres, i get my kumhos free of charge as they are used items off a new mini rally car. I was running 30 psi cold on them on saturday and never missed a session, but towards the end of saturday they were fooked. They are a cut slick, and by the time i had finished on sat the outsides looked like full slicks! I was advised to run them at a lower pressure on sunday,so i ran my other set at 24 psi, but i found the car moved around a lot more, especially on the rear.
If you check out the photos from the official photographer, during cornering you can see the front wheels lifting the outside edge, and the rears riding on the inside edge, so clearly there is room for improvement, but hopefully some adjustable tca's, and the afore mentioned rear beam with camber shims incl. should address the problems.
Then she just needs some real (chevy v8) power. I will hopefully be running an improved setup at national day, as i am top of the list for non members when track time becomes available, and will try a set of tony ryans ex btcc slicks, and see how i get on.
Obviously ford fair will be a little disappointing as slicks aren't allowed.
