Default Crank Postion Sensors With Megajolt?

Morning, just a quick question regarding which crank postion sensor to use, i am building a C16XE on bike carbs for the track Nova, it will be running on the Fords Edis and Megajolt set up. Now have I got to use the Ford crank sensor or will the Vauxhall one work?

Cheers

Ross.

Just the sensor? I'd have thought the Vauxhall one would work but I have a feeling that the MJ is meant to work with a 36-1 toothed ring, and I think the Vauxhall is a 64-2 ring. I might be wrong though.....

I know on the extra code you'd be able to do it, but not sure how this applies to jolt.

Ross,
The vauxhall one is a different type of sensor. You will find it has three wires rather than the two of the ford item. The vauxhall one is a Hall effect that requires a voltage feed where as the Ford one is a reluctance type that has a small magnet.

You will need to use the ford reluctance one as it produces the signal that the EDIS unit wants to see. You will also need to use a 36-1 wheel. I think i might have one knocking about.

You then need to attach the wheel and sensor in at specific angles in relation to TDC.

I can pop down raydon and talk you through it if you like.

Doug;
36-1 trigger wheel has been taken care of, was just trying to save a bit of work by using the GM part, ive got a few Zetec kicking about I take it I need the flywheel sensor?

Dom;
There is fook all work needed to finish the Nova compared to the S1, have been missing driving a decent car though, so got to sort it.

Yes, you need the zetec sensor found bolted in the front of the block under the exhaust manifold and next to the gearbox.

Do you know how to set the position of the sensor up relevant to the missing tooth and TDC?
