you may think this is a waste as power drops but it is still hanging on to 600 bhp on its way to 9000 !!
When he told me the original super unleaded power figure, I asked him if he'd mapped it on race fuel, and he told me that he had not. When I asked him why not, he said that he hadn't bothered because he would never use it with race fuel .

Also, when I suggested to Ann that he raise the rev limit to 8200 just to beat Andy's top speed time as well , she told me that he hadn't brought it.

I can only go by what I'm told .

Oh well, smoke and mirrors and all that crap .

Let me tell you the story Mike , I never mapped the engine on race fuel but as I had a few lts of carless turbo I added some ignition timming and the engine made another 40 bhp I never had any intension of running it on race fuel, hope this answers your query

Anne had not realised that I had taken the lap top with me

As for the rev limiter being set at 8ooo rpm that is where I wanted it set to know what speed it would pull at 8000 rpm. The engine gives 613 at 8500 rpm and the limiter is normally
set at 9200 rpm

If I wanted to go for top speed on the gearing it has I would have set it at 9200 rpm

I had no intension of going to beat Andrews times I was only interested in my own cars performance as its the first time its been used

Special thanks to my son jim for getting the car ready at short notice today
also thanks to Jamie (the quiet one for the first few laps of cadwell park) for the invite
