take it to combe and offer passenger rides in it

the person who's in the passenger seat when it dies wins a prize

or you could always offer it up to one of the mags as a featurette on how you tried to kill it but ended up weighing it in as it was worth more

take it to combe and charge people to drive a lap in it... The fastest lap wins a cash price or cheap arse trophy and it will also generate additional funds for charity.

Charge Ł10 for a lap
Ł5 of this goes to charity and Ł5 goes in the winners pot
3 second penalty for every time your off the black stuff

Winner takes all and names the charity

disputes are handled by the stewards (passionford jury)

cue peole claiming the rumble strips aren't technically black so you get a 3 second penalty for going over them

true but, otherwise your going for rallycross comedy value if you don't make rules, there is going to be some serious corner cutting
Last thing needed is a Lewis Hamilton style incident on a chicane or the pits for that matter

The more people who drive it before the bottom end falls out the better for charity !

Any disputes can be handled in the Muppet room, that's diplomatic

put a 5k hard cut rev limiter on it
additional penalties for hitting it

this way it ensures longevity for the engine so that everyone can have a go

What size engine has it got? Might be a laugh on the banger track.

When Doug borrowed our courtesy car we went to collect it from my house and you should have seen his face drop when he thought he was getting the replica 'I'm not using that am I?'

I don't think it would last very long. If some said here you go, here's a car you've only got one lap to go as quick as you can and it's only cost you a tenner. It's gonna end in the armco within 3 laps!!

Actually, the nitrous route is potentially quite a good one to go down.

Martin, have you seen that article from south africa they did on drag racing, maybe we could do something similar with the escort at brunters with fast ford?

Bunch of lads, nitrous kit, disk cutters, no budget, see if we can get it into the 12s, I reckon we could, what do you reckon?

Might need to be somewhere other than brunters though, as I think potentially if we start cutting the roof and back end of an escort at brunters, to make it quicker, they might throw us out

Thats a great idea! Start by cutting the roof off

Whilst the fastest lap times would be very funny, its just not practical. People would kill the car straight away and there is a good chance of a serious accident.

My suggestion would be to book it in to Croft or Combe, do a mega cheap and quick RWD cossie conversion (but keep it secret) and do some charity rides in it Only problem is that would cost you some time!

That would cost literally thousands of pounds worth of time, and would mean tieing up thousands of pounds worth of parts in it as well Phil, never worth the aggro, whatever happens needs to be somewhere between very cheap and free.

break it at combe

tell peole to bring their own tools and they can have any single peice they want, be it a wheel or a wheel arch, as long as they put soemthing in the charity box and don't break anything and don't be too greedy

(imagine someone turning up with a pair of tin snips for the lid because theirs is a little rotten )
