does your car have a lamda sensor,,, if it has then you already got it

ps: jim i REALLY live in central london and travel AGAINST the traffic outwards hence i get travel for shorter times

going the otherway then its a 45 mins drive to work driving up muswell hill with the city boys

not necessarily, it may have been disabled if it has been 'tuned' although that means that it came from the factory with it

for years, 4x4 cossies that came from the factory with lambda sensors and closed loop fuelling were modified by 'tuners' who ought to know better and the closed loop function was cut out as run programs from other chips were copied across.

still to this day you get people selling chips based on rally car maps that do not have the closed loop fuelling part of the software written in

And many of them wont even run the fuel pump either. "Bridge the relay with the wifes hair clip" is advice ive heard.

thats true,,,,, but thats just guessing,,,, theres LOADS of other things we could guess too,,, it may have a aftermarket ecu, it may be running on carbs but unless hes mentioned that ive always based my judgement on what IS MENT TO BE on the car,,, if i was to wonder " what if" with my customers i would never sell anything

so 90% chance that if that guy has a lamda sensor its got closed loop from the factory, i could have also said cat but alot of people remove cats claiming its for performance but in reality its also down to money when the cat fails

another way is to check the fueling,,, if its .9% CO then theres a good chance its got closed loop...... if its running 3 to 10% co then theres a good chance its either been taken out the chip/got a faulty lambda/ missing the cat or just dont have closed loop

hope that explains things a little better
