Default OE fuel hose in car - will it smell? and what dash sizes are..

been to the local place that does hydraulic hoses and fittings etc today to enquire about bits for the 3dr.

i asked about PTFE lined hose to use for the fuel lines as they will be in car, and he said its £30 a metre... fuck that

now, whenever ive opened a bonnet ive never smelt petrol, but the black rubber hose is usually only small lentgths and im going to need about 8 metres in car, and a bit more in the bay.

ive worked out how many fittings i need, but im usure of what sizes they are.

ive got 10mm accross threads so is that a -3?

14mm -8?

20mm -10?

26mm -12?

cheers all.

think im just going to go fo black hose under the bonnet, as im not overly keen on the colours or aeroquip, and certainly not the price

oh shit, forgot where the tank was.

drill a few pikey holes in the boot floor if there isnt any, gromet em, and use normal undercar cheap fuel injection hose, gotta be cheaper than flashying it up in-car, and hose length cant be much more.

all the ends are dash fittings tho, so its gonna cost whatever way i do it.

ones i looked at today were steel ones, fair bit heavier than quip, but about £4 each.... only need about £140 worth, not inculding the hose

also, what fitting is used on an 044 pump, the end where the wires go?

looks like a banjo sort, but you need a nut, not a bolt - that ones got me confused

ah good point, may as well do it like that then.

and id just use the cheaper connections if money is an issue (it always is with me, i still work for future ), not as if 1kg spread around the car will matter

the 044 fitting kits are sold on fleabay for a few quid i think mate, thats your place for that shit i think.
