Default Super moto's rock

Just had my first go on a super moto(road legal moto-x) 2002 Honda crf 450, and it was soooo much fun left me shakey. Thing just wants to wheelie, 3rd gear no clutch and up she comes awsome.

Any super moto owners on here looking to sell, whats insurance like on them?

My mate has sold it, but he left it in my garage and It started calling to me so I thought ok just a go round the block.

Always wanted one, but never got round to having one, if I did have one, I would have to ride it with no plates as my license wouldnt last 5 minutes otherwise

I dont think Ill ever have a plate on a fast or fun bike ever again TBH, sooner take my chances doing a runner than in court

Anyway, even if you do get caught with no plate, its only a VDR not any points or anything.

Not had a go on a true super moto, but used to have a YZF125 crosser that was ballistic, had that on the road a couple of times and it was naughty to say the least!! Had run it briefly on road tires from a friends bike and it was just an animal!!

Would love a 4 stroke 250 on the road or something similar!!

If your bike has no plate, you just say it must have fallen off or been nicked and you hadnt noticed and they give you a VDR and you have to get one fitted and get it stamped at an MOT station.
So compared to speeding/ dangerous driving / racing / jumping off park benches etc and all the other things a super moto rider should be doing on and around the public highway, its no big deal

Awesome bike Syd

I had a YZF 426F but I sold it after 2 weeks , there was no possible way I could have kept it and rode the way I did

Supermoto`s just make you ride like a clown because theyre such a laugh , wheelies happen everytime you have to pull away

I've got a Husaberg 650, haven't been on it in months though . I got it after reading the reports of them being lairy and prefering the look, 'crosser with slicks', as opposed to some of the supermoto's which are heavier than the average superbike. Looks like the one in the link.

Its far too loud and generally far to easy a ride and get upto mischief.... highly recommended.

http://www.mcnews.com.au/NewBikeCata...berg/FE650.htm

I'd consider selling for the right price.

Just got in from footy.
The electric start isn't to be used from cold. The bikes are kickstart only. The 'Restarter' is only supposed to be for stalls or quick stops while the engine is still warm. Mine didn't come with the starter on as they are waste of time. Bit tricky to kick but once you've felt the recoil a few times that just misses your shin you quickly learn.

Hi all,

I had a ktm lc 640, 04, model but 06 reg, quick for what it was, it would do a ton no problem and quite stable at that speed, but was to heavy for what i wanted ie power wheelie's, i had ridden a mates 426 enduro yam, and that was more like it, but the ktm looks so good, good handling, lots of vibration lol you have to ride them like you stole it, recently had a go on a husqvarna SM510, what a bit of kit does everything you want with bags of torque, very good handling setup goes and stops very well , big brakes, but to be fair you need a second bike as you seem to get carried away when your on a supermoto and its hard to be sensible, i have had all sorts of bikes from 50's to zx 900r, and you need to weigh up exactly what you need the bike for, the suzuki drz400 is more of a supermoto you can use everyday with good reliability, but not the same fun factor as say a sm 510 husqvarna which is a true supermoto,

Regards Dave R.

Hahaha its all coming back now , the YZF was a proper bastard to kick with its decompression lever !
and yeah missed the kick and caught the shins many a time

But truely if your willing to risk your license everytime you ride , then quite simply there is no better fun to be had on 2 wheels

My only real gripe about mine was how much fuel it would hold ie , not a fookin lot

I think £3 - 4 filled it up lol
