Default file recovery

does anybody know were i can download any software or any web sites that i can use to retrieve deleted files of my camera cheers

does that recuva work then? i have a couple of IDE hard drives which wont boot up and have alot of valuable data on them, i think i got a virus due to some wanker surfing porn on my pc

You can try it.

If the disks wont spin at all they're shagged. There are ways around this but only in hardware.
If they run, stick em in another pc and copy across what you want.

I use repair software called 'Spinrite' which is about the best you can get in 'software' but theres only so much you can do.
(you have to pay for spinrite though...)

Another option, download something called the 'Ultimate Boot CD', or similar, boot from this and it gives you a basic windows that lets you run defrag, scandisk and anti-virus checks.

cool cheers i will give it a try.

first of all i will put them into another working pc as secondary hard drives and see if i can copy and paste.

if there is a bad virus on there i just hope it doesnt spread to the other pc.

the disks do sound like they are spinning up, i just think the virus has took out the boot sectors so the OS's wont work
