Thank you Indycos
Awesome pics there. I've no doubt this will be the model which appears at the motorshow this month.
Not loving the rear spoiler or bonnet vents much (will probably grow on me no doubt ) but the Recaro seats are stunning . It's clearly official FOrd pic as it has a number plate now, but I haven't seen these pics on any official Ford media (yet!)
Also, we got an RFQ pack in work today for a hose for the air induction system. FACTS are: 10,000 units total, 5,000 per year over 2 years for builds starting 2010 (although i cast doubt over that date to my colleague (the Engineering Project Manager) and he conceded it may be 2009). We have a 95%+ chance that the work will come to our factory (we did the MkI RS induction hoses) so it's definitely starting to warm up now!!!

I think the green will be a limit run on the first batch of cars to be ordered ( maxium 500 ) but will have to wait for fords to say, but not long now 18 days to go and will be there at the launch

Those exact pics are actually embargoed till tomorrow, so Ford's going to be pissed at whoever released them!
It is 'the' car that will be at the Motorshow. I'll be getting up close and personal with it in a couple of weeks, but won't be able to drive it.
Release is scheduled for 2009.

Tony,
The front diff is just a very aggressive set-up ATB . The special thing is the front suspension, which separates the hubs from the uprights (they are on their own ball joints) in a unique way that reduces torque steer and thus has enabled the diff to be set-up more aggressively.

Dan, I think Chip has been looking at the black shots on the first page... not the new actual car shots.
I personally think it looks awesome! Bearing in mind what I'm driving about in now, and how much fun that is, the new RS is going to be superb! Regardless of the lack of 4WD.

I'm Ford through and through pal, but I'm not naive enough to think they're development work is perfect. If this will have 300bhp and a hell of a lot of torque, then ST style calipers on top of larger discs aren't going to be good enough. Its a dissapointment, Ford have done well recantly in competition, I should think they'd learn from their mistakes with the last Focus RS and spend the money where its needed...

I would say the actual production cars will have a fair few differences to what you see here
