Default Changing rear springs on 3dr

Can these be done with the wheels on and simply unbolting the bottom shock bolt?

or do the wheels need to come off to allow the springs to come out?

Cheers

Ryan

I think it'd be hard work with the wheels in place. Why would you want to leave the wheels on? Are they that hard to remove?

I always leave wheels on (not done a 3 door though) for a number of reasons.
Saves taking wheels off and putting back on, which I find a ballache, and also weight of wheel helps in removal of springs, as invariably I'm on my jack.
Wheel removal is job time and difficulty doubled for me.

drop the beam? almost positive you wouldnt need to touch the beam john.

worst case i guess is remove the rear anti roll bar, can be too involved im sure.

Could you not use spring compressors?
Can't be that difficult?

You can do it with the shafts in place, you can coil the springs round them but the wheels and shocks need to come off. Done it myself a few months ago.

AGREED....

Now stop beign a girl & go change the springs. It'll take you 40mins to do the whole job, an hour tops if you can get the wheels off.
