Hello, i have a fuel leak underneath my rs turbo after starting after it has been stood for some time awaiting repairs. the leak is halfway down the section underneath the middle of the car and the pipe has a small split in it but obviously under pressure fuel pisses out everywhere. is this pipe one whole length from start to finish? or is it in sections and where is it available from? would you recommend replacing the whole thing from fuel tank to engine or would it be possible to replace just a section of it by any other means? obviously its not something im going to bodge together and want to do the job properly as i dont want to end up sat in a fireball. any help appreciated cheers.

Its a metal pipe from the bulkhead to the rear of the car.
Ideally you'd replace the full length as it'll probably all be choroded.
could either replace it all with a braided hose with the correct fittings on either end, or replace the split section with a braded section with 2 compression fittings to clamp onto the original metal pipe if its in ok condition.
best thing to do is get it up on a ramp if possible, or axle stands and take it from their.
braided line from front to back would be the easiest imo.

Theirs people selling the feed and return lines on ebay im sure.
The feed pipe with the 2 fittings either end (forget which ones are needed on the S2) would prob set u back about £30-40 from somewhere that does that sort of thing.
standard pipe size i'd guess at being 5mm I.D. just ask for braided fuel hose with whichever fitting you need, even take along the old piece of pipe.
on an S1 one side would be a male compression fitting as it comes off the accumulator under the car and the other end is a 12mm (iirc) banjo fitting, but on the S2 the accumulator is up front so it would be different.
Even take along the old hose or either ends so they can match the fittings up perfectly.
A good way to measure how long you need the hose is to follow the original with a peice of string/wire and maybe add a little on as the braided hose doesnt bend as tightly to things as the original will.
