Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s. Best road/performance compromise tyre/ ive ever used and i drive a lot of cars with a lot of different tyres on. Also the tyre of choice for mnay high performance car manufactureres too.

No idea if they produce one in that size.

Same tyre in the cup option would be better for grip, but maybe not longevity with a car of your power.

I think the trouble u will have is your size 245/15 ??

Toyo do the R888 in 15", but only very good in the dry, might try these when i've finished my cortina after the 4th incarnation

With a MK2 its light on the rear and with so much power u will prob still struggle to get those horses down

uniroyal rainsports are a good compromise road tyre, eagle gsd3s are a bit better in the dry.

+1 - Excelent wet performance and a slight compramise on dry performance. If you use your car alot for different typres of driving these are ace.

EVO magazine rated the Eagle F1 Asymetric (the new one) as the best all rounder, and knowing how good the GSD3s were i bought a set of them. can't fault them really.

As per Jim

Do NOT use uniroyal rain sports, had them on the back of the Saff, and they were darn right DANGEROUS, had to put them on the front!! Was not impressed seeing as I'd been recommended them!!

I have them on my Chaser, but then I crashed the other day, so ignore me

Well, they were shit for me! Put them on the front and put the F1s back on the rear and it was fine

With the unifoyals on the rear, under hard acceleration in a straight line, and rear end of the car would be like a ship

And no its not the car

R888s are the way to go for sure IMHO, based on price and performance. If Grip is your no 1 priority, then short of a full slick you won't get any better.

Size wise is the problem - 15s only go up to 215 width.

195/55 R15 85V 592 203 273 891 9.1 5.5 - 7.0
165/50 R15 72V 546 163 255 966 6.5 4.5 - 6.0
195/50 R15 82V 574 203 266 919 8.8 5.5 - 7.0
205/50ZR15 86W 584 216 270 903 9.0 5.5 - 7.5
215/50ZR15 88W 594 228 274 888 10.2 6.0 - 7.5

16s:

205/55ZR16 90W 628 213 290 840 10.2 5.5 - 7.5
195/50 R16 84V 599 203 278 881 9.3 5.5 - 7.0
215/50ZR16 90W 619 228 286 852 10.5 6.0 - 7.5
225/50ZR16 92W 628 235 290 840 10.9 6.0 - 8.0
225/45ZR16 89W 605 228 281 872 9.4 7.0 - 8.5

17s:

215/45ZR17 91W RF 624 216 291 846 10.2 7.0 - 8.0
225/45ZR17 94W RF 634 231 295 832 11.1 7.0 - 8.5
235/45ZR17 93W 643 242 298 821 11.0 7.5 - 9.0
205/40ZR17 84W RF 598 212 281 882 8.8 7.0 - 8.0
235/40ZR17 90W 625 243 291 844 10.6 8.0 - 9.5

eagle f1 are quite good in the wet, due to the f1 tread pattern which maximises waterdispersion, not to bad in dry i thought.

They don't even make an 888 for an 8x15 rim let alone anything else.

D01J is a superb tyre, my mate ran them on his 450hp RX7 and the grip it had was insane, they were 265/40/17's though lol

Doesn't Mike R run those or the newer version ?
