Hi guys,

I have recently purchased a 909 motorsport escos bodyshell, unfortunately it has a sunroof fitted; How much of a job is it to swap the roof skin with a good rs2000 one or gen cossy one?

I've seen martins pics of the mondeo and it looks fairly involved tbh..

So can it be done? how much should I be paying?

it aint that hard mate and any escort mk5 skin will fit its alot eisier than doing a escort mk3 or 4 or a 3 door sierra

Thought the escos and rs2000 skin were the only ones with the bulges either side at the back???

So whats involved then? what kind of ££ should I be looking for a bodyshop to fit?

is it painted and will you want the roof painting

i put a new skin on from ford on my escort their all the same roofs from 1991
took me a day including taking all interior out removing tailgate and having screen cut out the hardest part was taking the little strips of at the back of roof cos thier bonded on rest is realy easy to do. think the new roof was only about £130 +vat

It's a very easy job once the screen is out and the tailgate is off, just drill out the spot welds and then weld new one in place.

i recon a day to cut one off and put one on then depends wether you need paint or not
