Default Michael Jackson - thoughts....

As a child I was, and I am sure many on here were, absolutely HUGE Jackson fans.... I recently started listening to some of his stuff again (after pulling out some tracks to hear who I know now as famous and expert rock guitarists and other musicians - Eddie Van Halen, Slash, Jennifer Batten, Jeff Porcaro, John "JR" Robinson etc) and forgot how good his stuff actually was! I mean Thriller and Bad especially are two absolutely STRIKING records, each containing some absolutely superb pieces of music - Dirty Diana, Beat It, Man In The Mirror, Thriller, to name a few.... Other pieces of work notable of mention (IMO) are Earth Song, Come Together (Beatles cover) Billie Jean, Blood On The Dancefloor...

The production alone on "Bad" is just incredible. For an album recorded in 1987, it's production was YEARS ahead of it's time. By the time Jackson recorded HIStory (1995) Blood On The Dancefloor (1997) his own personal studio in his Neverland ranch outperformed Sony's flagship recording studio in terms of sound and quality!

It just made me think tho - it's such a crying shame where his life is at now! The man was a TRUE star - a star like the world has not seen since, and likely never will. His achievements include 8 Guiness World records including the worlds best selling album (Thriller, 1982 - which sells up to hundred million copies worldwide each year!), thirteen grammy's, thirteen number one records (just from his solo career alone) and total solo record sales of over 750,000,000 records! His life has been part of the media for non-stop virtually forty years, he performed at the Superbowl XXVII Half-Time entertainment in 1993 which aired to the largest audience in television history (1.5 billion) Through touring and record/single sales, Jackson has raised severa hundred of millions of dollars for charities and beneficial, alongside his own personal wealth he has contributed.

He has played alongside some of the best musicians in the world, worked with some of the music industries best and most talented people/producers/record labels, and toured virtually every country in the world, and been on stage in front of millions of people (the 1987 Bad tour and 1995's HIStory saw over 4.5million each)

He's met some of the most powerful leaders and people in the world, been to places most people have never heard of, married Elvis Presley's daughter, and in contraversey been tried and aquitted of four counts of child abuse, and two counts dismissed.

It's truly a shame where his life is now. Living in rented property in Las Vegas (okay, so it might be bigger than buckingham palace, but it's not a patch on his Neverland Ranch) and selling his posessions, such as hand written lyrics, the original Thriller red and black jacket, his white glove etc in an auction in the back of casino (where virtually nothing was bought because it wasn't publicised!)

He may have gone completely loopy - fame affects people in different ways. I'd say he's handled it comparatively well - Kurt Cobain shot himself because of the fame and he only had it 1 tenth of what Jackson's fame has been, and only for 5mins comparred to Jackson's standings : Jackson is still alive. He battled a skin disorder for his whole life (Vitiligo) and whilst he might be bit of a mess to look at due to his extensive plastic surgery, he's come out relatively unscathed.

But he's gone from being one of the richest and most powerfull men in the world, and possibly the biggest star the planet has ever seen, to being a shell of his former self. Moving to Las Vegas really was the final nail in the coffin. Vegas is where burned out stars go to try and kickstart a dying career, and not even anyone in Vegas is hiring or promoting Jackson.

I think it's sad - the man was a genious, an INCREDIBLY talented singer and performer, great songwriter, excellent producer and all round musical legend, and now - he's nothing.....

Thoughts.....

I've never been a fan of his music as a solo artist. Alot of the stuff he did with his brothers was excellent disco music and I could easily sit and listen to it but I just don't like his solo stuff. I appreciate the way his music was produced and agree it was way ahead of its time both in style and composition but its just not for me.
I suppose he was a legend, superstar call it what you want but to me he's just a mixed up mess who has been abused by the people around him as a youngster and it has moulded him into the freak he is today.

if you put yourself in compromising positions with children then buy their silence before it comes to court then there wouldnt really be to many willing to help. not just once either though.

The man is a musical genuis - I agree 100%. And it is a shame that he's ended up the way he has. A real shame.

Thriller is one of my all time favourite albums.

absolutely awesome performer, song writer etc. No one imo comes close to him. No band, no solo artist. Fuck me im REM mad, but they dont come close to Michaels talents. It is sad the way is life has gone but fuck it, look back on what he has done and forget about who he is now. LOADS of stars are utter cocks, loads of people are utter cocks, thats life. All that im bothered about is his music, and that is unquestionably the best that the industry has seen, and by the way music is going, its the best its likely ever to see!

BTW my sister used to work for MJWN(MJ world news) and met Michael a few times. Said you would not believe how different he is in real life. Doesnt talk in that silly little boys voice etc. She went to neverland twice. Took him on stage at a gig etc. Shes mega dissapointed how hes turned out, but also understands it was gonna happen!

If he did fiddle with those kids then he should go and rot in hell.
If he didnt, then its a downright shame that all the crap hes had to deal with has resulted in the sad state of his life today.

As I say - if he did mess with children though then he brought it all on himself.

thats what I recall. Jodies parents should be ashamed of letting themselves be bought out too - esp given the previous case. I also think Jodies parents may have shoved young Jodie in to Jackos life to be able to claim damages at a later date.

There some very dodgy stuff their, regardless of what the courts found.

yeah yeah yeah mate, cos money buys you out of a Paedo charge doesnt it, especially in front of the world audience!

Makes me laugh.........

It was SO SO abvious the parents were out for the money! If you are a father, i dont know, but put your self in their position. Would ANY amount of money stop you wanting justice for someone messing with your kid? If yes then its YOU that wants locking up, cos no money would buy me in that sort of case! Id want justice!

The initial accusation, the Jodie case, was settled out of court yes. But that tells me only one thing - the allegations were unfounded. What parent, who has PROOF that thier child was sexually abused, takes money instead of justice?

In 4 other counts, Jackson was aquitted - jury verdict of innocent on each account.

There was another that was dismissed on grounds that the accusers failed to corroborate their own story and failure to attend before it even went to a full court case.

i am a father. of a 4 year old boy and a 2 year old girl and as i remember it he settled out of court. i might be mistaken but thats how i remeber it. who would settle out of court if innocent? and who would allow their kids to stay with an obvious fruit if ever you saw one in the first place? especially the second case after the first. a good parent would see that theres something mayber a bit odd about a grown man playing with kids and wanting them to stay over and not allow them anywhere near. fault on both sides imo with money hungry parents who stop at nothing and a kiddie fiddler.

so who hands over millions of dollars to get of a charge if you know your innocent?
it can be argued both ways.

The world loves to persecute and jump on bandwagons... Specially with high profile celebs. Jackson didn't need that kind of drawn out high profile court case, so he paid them off to drop it. Okay maybe not the smartest thing to do, as I agree it could make you look guity, but he could have been done even MORE damage if it went to court, even if he was innocent....

how? if he's innocent what harm would there be in fighting all the way rathewr than handing over millions? couldnt he see how buying the case would look to the world with all the advisors he had? and would you truely feel safe leaving your kids in his care now knowing what you know of him?

An offer of Ł20m might make you change your mind. it shouldnt but certainly would make you think twice. In theory its easy to say no, my child is precious and justice should be served but thats a lot of cash - esp to someone who lives on a trailer park.

I think he wanted it all wrapped up as court would harm his career....probably, being the fool he is, didnt realise it was fooked anyways!

Who knows, its my opinion. I may be wrong...he may admit he did it on his death bed one day who knows. I just think he fucked up...i dont believe hes a paedo!
