Nationwide Fuel Protest 22nd June
ON SUNDAY THE 22nd OF JUNE 2008, AT MIDDAY, AT MAJOR CITIES AND TOWNS ACROSS THE COUNTRY WE ARE PLANNING A PEACEFUL DRIVING PROTEST.
The aim to get as many vehicles of whatever age and type, cars, lorries motorbikes and taxis to central locations in the cities to paralyse the road network, hopefully since it's a Sunday more people can turn up, and show that it's not just the truckers that are angry at the situation. We need to show we are serious and want the government to do something, if they do not then we do it again and again and again until the message sticks, let us shake their ivory tower and show that we are reaching our breaking point.

Yes I agree but then you need people to start taking time off work and that wont happen!
Bank Holidays would be good though as quite alot of people work through them but most of us are off and therefore could protest!

A full list of places in major cities accross the U.K. Will be up on FaceBook tonight.
Carnage is something were trying to avoid, so far we have posted on well over 1000 car forums.
Some how i think the Government will be taking notice, Sky news, BBC news 24, most tabloids and The Guardian and Independant have shown interest. The momentum is gaining
If your happy with the incresed rise in fuel costs. No problem, sitting at home won't change anything..

It might not make a difference & yes it will use fuel to do it etc etc but atleast someones finally decided to make a stand & not just moan about it!

OK Website up and running, more locations to be added
Here
Were not out to make major disruption to the road networks during the working week. Were setting out to show the Government that the people have had enough. We have had a great response from other Car forums, Haulage companies, and other users of fuel.
The Government won't be able to ignore cities accross the UK stuffed with cars on the front page of newspapers Monday morning and on the news. Maximum turnout requires it be done on a Sunday.

Doing a Trackday at Croft on the 22nd of June, would have definately been in on this otherwise as it's about time we stopped having our pants pulled down with the ever rising fuel costs

tell that to the french. sitting on your arse moaning wont change anything either. direct action changes things. making enough noise mess and disruption until things start to happen is the only thing that makes a difference. polite chattering disaproval is quickly forgotten.
