When driven a few miles from cold and the secs monitor hits 69-70 degrees,if at idle i get a burst of grey/black light smoke from the exhaust, just changed from silkolene pro s 10/50 to millers 10/60 would that be anything to do with it ? Any ideas welcome troops.
Doesn't smoke under boost conditions and has only done it twice .

I found Silkolene gives lower oil pressure compared with Mobil1, possibly a reason for the change?

Or he's just tight

I read somewhere Kev that old age in the owner can cause this

I'd check plugs and if they are ok then I'd wait until it does it again/gets worse really...

You might just be right jimbo.

I'd check plugs and if they are ok then I'd wait until it does it again/gets worse really...

Not sure what you mean pal ?

Might just change back to silkolene as it was good as gold before that.

What does oil pressure have to do with it. Changing to silkolene does seem to give a lower reading on the oil pressure gauge, but that doesnt tell you how good it is at protecting your engine

SECS monitor reading like that means one of 3 things

1) faulty secs monitor
2) faulty wiring
3) faulty Coolant Sensor
