Guys ive got a 23inch samsung flat screen, and currently use my pc through it etc, but since doing so i cant get sound i play my ps3 through it also with a hdmi cable and sound is there, but ive messed with settings and nothing, do i need another type of cable and if so what?

Is the screen a pc monitor or a tv?

 

if you are using a VGA cable to the screen, you would need to take a line-out from the sound-card on the PC to the auxiliary input on the screen

or you could get a HDMI graphics card on the PC, but you would need a motherboard or sound card which has SP-DIF to run a cable from that into the graphics card, then the HDMI cable into the screen would also provide sound.

otherwise, use some surround sound speakers plugged into the PC, they are dirt cheap and sound 10 times better than the speakers on your screen

 

Thats why i asked if its a tv screen or monitor, because if its a pc screen it would be easier to get some pc speakers and plug them into the pc, you then have sound, job done

 

i've got both rigged up on mine, the cable to use the screen speakers is only about Ł3 off ebay and takes 10 seconds to plug in, but i rarely use the speakers which are built into the screen.

 

Its a hd tv guys, but with a pc output on it which im using
