Perfect for an 8j wheel mate, will be fine, and assuming they are going on your Saph you won't have any clearance issues

If you can, go for 235's on the back, again they will still be fine on an 8j wheel

i got 235s now mate if i run coilovers hard its fine, no rubbing but uncontrollable on back roads, any softer and tyres rub bad.

Shouldn't rub that bad on the MO's, i've got 18's and my Comp's dont' catch on the back, probably ideally too low for a Saph mate...

Coilovers are height adjustable mate yes, worth speaking to Mike R about the spring rates on Gaz as they can be bettered upon, something my mate was going to do using Blistein springs IIRC.

Get it set-up nicely and it'll be even more fun to drive

i think alan rainbow used it mainly for track days and it is perfect on a flat road, but once i get on a country lane its awful, feels good all round with dampening a bit softer just herific tyre rubbing. if i cant get it how i want it with the narrower tyres il have to give mike a ring and get it sorted.

Narrower tyres will only provide less grip though mate, surely? Will be even more skittish on back roads etc...

ive had 215s all round before on 71/2j s and it was good, its only skittish because ive got my suspension set so hard to stop my arches shredding my tyres so with narrower tyres hopefully wont catch arches

Sorry to jump on this thread I am thinking of fitting 17x8j to my RS500 i am worried that the 8j will be do wide and catch the front arches.I think the rear will be ok,just concerned about the fronts really. The wheels I am referring to are an ET30.i WAS THINKING OF A 235/40/17 REAR AND 215/40/17 for the fronts.Any advice would be great, remember it's a 3dr not a sapphire.
Many thanks.Lee.
