Default cat-b

Hi there, been offered a cat b car, full repaired.
I understand that these are not supposed to be allowed back on the road.
But is there any way, of putting it through an sva test, like a kit car or the like? Or just registering it new?

Thanks, and sorry if it seems like a stupid question!

Not even if its totally repaired and has nothing to do with the old id, i just register it as a new, home built car?

no can not be registerd again. i know of only one going back on the road and that was one with id issues and was proved to be the car it was supposed to be. if it was damaged it will have had major damage and more than likely needed a reshell. that in itself cause's id issues

Yes it was me, it would be great if you still have a copy of it

Could even email it to james90rs@gmail.com

I'd say if any cab B's are back on the road, there will be something very dodgy, i,e a ringer

Just track it

I'd say avoid it, but from previous experience, I've known of a cat b car being allowed back on the road, new log book issued from the dvla and all that. The car wont be worth anything though!

Its been fully repaired, it is not road registered. i was just wandering if the dvla could register a new id if they dont know about the cars past, or if they thought it had just been built from parts.
I will be keeping the car so not bothered about re-sale value, it will be for track use, i just wanted to know if i could register it to drive it to and from trackdays, as my trailer is in spain at the moment, so would need to bring it back.
The only reason i'm interested is because the guy is part exchanging his lotus (the car in question), a couple of pushbikes and a speedboat against a range rover im currently selling, and i'm hankering after a decent trackcar so it has come at the right time.

Sorry for any confusion caused.

James90rs, ill pm you in a sec.

Thanks
