Default Ford 6000 Headunits anygood?

I need to find a cheap head unit for my mk2 mondeo, the ford 6000 CD seems to fit the bill. It came with a Ford 5000 stereo that never worked so I don't know how good the ford units sound. Anybody have any opinions on the 6000 head unit?

I've also seen the newer 6000 CD units with the phone button on, would that button activate bluetooth and setup a hands free link between it and my mobile phone?

Thanks in advance.

Yeah I was thinking that, It's just that second hand double din seem to go for quite a lot on the bay and I'd also have to buy a converter for the loom and the stalk on the steering column. Ford one just seems a good cheap easy option as long as they sound quite nice and aren't temperamental.

I'm just being tight really because I'll have more money in the kitty for the project.

yeah the ones in the newer fords are good, especially the ones with 4/6 speaker setups as standard, but the model hes talking about is the one found in the mk6 escorts i think, which are obviously not that new, hence a cheaper after market head unit would be better value for money
