Default new jobs and mortgages

Anyone know anything about getting a mortgage when you've only just got a new job?
I'm sure I've heard somewhere that you need to be in a job for at least 2 years before you can get a mortgage that isn't going to charge extortionate rates of interest. I'd imaging this to be even more true now with the current money lending situation.

Not sure that you have to be in a job for two years, I think as long as you have continuous employment it shouldn't matter but I could be wrong.

I suppose if you were still in a probation period at work, a mortgage lender could be cautious....

they want to see pay slips with your basic on it rather than what you would earn with overtime etc

get your P60's out and show that there is still a similar amount of steady income coming in nd you shouldn't have any problems

When I got mine I had to send off the last 6 months payslips so not 100% on the 2 years rule mate

But i'd say at least 6 months!

Things are hard at the moment and a lot of brokers are bending over backwards to get you the Loan you need so YES you can get a mortgage, as long as the figures from your previous employer and you new one are about the same.

3 months payslips from your previos job and the first one from the new one would be fine.

I only had to send off 1 recent payslip, but on the form it does ask when you started the job. Can't remember there being a limit though!
