Previously running the good old bd14 inlet std exhaust setup, which were fine. Thing is i have quite heavily ported both sides of the head so why have a std cam in the exhaust side when the ports can get rid of more air.
Anyway i have swapped the bd14 inlet to the exhaust side and fit a new bd15 to the inlet. Dialled them in and went for a spin. The car defo has more midrange punch, still quite laggy but the difference is there so im happy. Fuelling is getting checked on rollers later this week but all seems well. If fuelling is cock on no point having chip "adjusted" eh.
Hoping for a wee bit more power on rollers but we will see, prob have more torque by the way it feels.
To be honest mate I think yoru lack of midrange is more to do with your turbo choice than the cams, I will be running a T38 and I have to say I am not looking forward to the results, think I am going to be dissapointed ..... It seems you get all of the negatives of a big turbo with none of the explosive power delivery...
If you have built an engine like yours you might as well go the whole hog and chuck a rollerbearing T4 or a GT30 on there and gain some midrange back....
I dont mind lack of midrange i like a big punch further up and the 38 blows very very hard. I will get a t4 next for more power as im nearly on the limit of my 38 but i have'nt looked back.
