Ford Transit Models........
Right, im looking into getting a new shape transit (2001>?), but there seems to be that many different models and sizes available.
Does anyone know whats the biggest one they do and what model number that is?
I assume there is either SWB or LWB, then with either normal roof, semi high roof or full size roof? Are they the only options available and does the model number relate to the length and roof height?
Can you stand up fully in the normal one and the semi high roof models? (and how tall are you if you can? )
Looking at spending between £5k-£7k depending on spec of course but would need to be no more than 70-80k on the clock at the very most really. What sort of model and year should i expect for a nice clean van thats not been knocked about so much.
Cheers.

there is the swb, lwb, and jumbo. The jumbo is a high roof while the lwb can be semi-high or high and i think the swb can only go to semi but not 100%, as for the engine the y come in 85,90,100,115,125 or 135 brake on the year you are looking at only the 135 has the 6 speed gearbox aswell. I would go for a 115 or 125 in swb, in a semi high roof i need to tilt my head when standing up and im 5ft,8 for the kind of money you have try getting a lx model aswell for the extra`s and as for the miles they should fine with full ford service history

Ah right thanks for that mate, so its the jumbo that id need really if you say you cant stand up fully in a semi high roof. I definatly need the LWB i reckon, so looks like the jumbo is my best bet.
Ive also just noticed that they do a XLWB too? Unless thats just another name for the jumbo?

They also do a medium wheel base!!
Numbers on the doors are gross vehicle weight (T350 means 3.5 ton, T300 means 3 ton etc etc) and the other number is the power output (90 = 90ps, 115 = 115ps etc).

Well it will be used to carry 2 motocross bikes aswell and all the gear so id like to section it off for the bikes and have an area to work on them between races and obviously loads of spares and gear, jet wash, water tank etc, so i think i might just go for the biggest there is.
I had a feeling that the numbers would might relate to GVW in some way. Cheers.
Big Wull, on what years did the tdci start then mate? That may very well take me over budget?
