pdf problem

Default pdf problem

can anyone help with this one? when i open a pdf file it opens in adobe acrobat,no problem how ever when the wifes on her account on the same pc and tries opening one it opens in m/soft word and its all gibberish/jumbled rubbish, is there a setting or something to alter it so its the same as on mine? because at the moment if she gets any emails in pdf she has to send them to me,then log onto my account so she can read them

sounds like you havent got the correct file association. you can probably right click the file and select 'open with' and then select adobe from the list of available programs. To configure it so it always opens with adobe you need to go into control panel, folder options, file types, scroll down to pdf, select 'change' underneath and then select adobe reader from the program list.

as said above, right click file, select open with, then "choose program"


Choose Adobe Acrobat Reader and tick the box "always use this program for these types of files"

right,i got as far as folder options but all thats in there is general,view and search nothing about file types? im using vista by the way

Right click on the file > properties

Open with

Change to Adobe

My computer - Tools - Folder Options - File Types......Scroll down to PDF files......Select CHANGE....select Adobe.

OK

sometimes you may have to right click on the file with shift held down and then it may come up with 'open with' then as above selet 'choose program' then find acrobat reader then tick the box at the bottom saying 'always open with this program'

should sort it if you still need to do it
