I'm absolutly gutted...

The man is a Legend

You will be missed... rest in peace (or more likely rest in a very noisy music filled room!) Mr Peel.

I grew up listening to him
There are so many bands and artists who owe their success to his foresight and lack of snobbishness.
Even at 65 he was still relevant
This is indeed a tragedy for the music scene

Such a shame, always enjoyed listening to John's show on the odd occasions when I caught it. Such good variety, and really something for everyone! Brilliant, and such a breath of fresh air from most of the 'manufactured cack' put out on radio 1 most of the day.....

Very sad, I hope they rename the Glastonbury 'Other Stage' after him, as people have suggest! RIP

Gutted. Its like when a freind or family member dies, you wish you had spent more timr with them, visited more often.
Now I wish I'd listened to John Peel more often.

There will never be another.

The best radio DJ ever.

He will be sorely missed.

I loved his show, and as said, wished I'd listened more.
