cosworth fueling....

I personally wouldn't want a high power engine running an off-the-shelf chip that's been 'set-up' by some not-so-mongtard mechanic on a CO machine at idle.

imo it's down to cost. ford owners are notoriously pikey and would rather pay £50 for a copy chip of unknown origin (possibly a motorsport chip where part load, cruise and idle are not so important) than whatever a proper chip would cost (and save in fuel and engine damage)

there reason being i have spent to much money on the thing anyway so i will go for a cheap mapping job to keep the cost down

Oh, let me clarify - I consider a standard cossie to be a 'high power engine', in that it's producing approximately twice what it'd produce at atmospheric levels. A stage 3 YB is a 'very high power' engine, on the grand scale of things. Everything is relative.

20K+ Super Poster.
I had a EA chip, as a stop gap, before other things, wish now that I hadn't.
EA did the install/set up, and it was still crap despite my willingness to pay whatever it cost.
I have my mapping booked, but no dates till the 16th JULY, and that was a cancellation!!
Still at least it gives me time to get all the other bits done, and mapping is only £280, for triple maps.
I think that some tuners play a bit too safe fuelling wise, saves any comeback.

msd live map, my car went there with pretty much everything new just not set up good enough and he sorted it. good fuel consumption and no smoke just a few flames when you back off from a hard run

PassionFord Post Whore!!
The other thing,
some people think a rally/race car tune or chip, is fine being rich on idle or cruise, as the car wont be @ those loads for any length of time.
But still no need.
