why do you want to go larger? do you think you have hit the flow limit of the current body size?

a cossie throttle body can flow more than 600bhp

well, it hits full power at 6200rpm, but redlines at 7000, need bigger volume of air. its a 3.0 v6. Ive heard mustang throttle bodies are the same.

so you think the throttle body is restricting your airflow?

dont every car hit the max bhp before they see the redline?

and i doubt very much the throttle body nor induction side of things is a restriction on a stock engine or a mildly fettled one. Dont mess around with bigger throttle bodys. I've been there, done it, got the T-Shirt. Really is a FUCKLOAD more fuss than is worth it. So unless you have a great big whopping turbo in between your filter and throttle body then I doubt it'd need changing.

Doesnt the ST have a air flow meter? if so wouldn't it be pointless enlarging the T/B unless the air flow meter is matched to the T/B?

Inlet will be a restriction but not just really the TB. Think abut it - how many cylinders do you have on the induction stroke at one time. Best junking the whole inlet set up and going with ITBs for N/A.

Exactly.. although i'm not sure you'd ever see a YB at 24,000 rpm to see that power at atmospheric pressure

is the standard throttle body a RESTRICTION at present is the question you need to be asking yourself. If yes, by all means, swap it or take a dremel to it if you want.

If NO leave it alone.

Everything on the engine is a restriction at one point or another. As above, the question you have to ask yourself is what part of the inlet tract is the MOST restrictive.

To save you the head scratching, think 'individual throttle bodies'.
