Default AYC light wont go out on evo6

does anyone know what would cause the AYC light on a evo 6 to stay on, a mate of mine said it came on during the week but would go off again after awhile, tonight he changed the diff oil with proper grade oil but now the light wont go off at all... any ideas ??

If a thick old fluid is flushed out and new thinner is replaced, then the 8 year old pump cant maintain the correct pressure to operate the diff correctly, so the ecu cuts off the little motor to prevent burning out.
(fit an RS diff and be done with it all!)

pull ya pants down and be ass raped at the sametime, i would suggest you check the AYC pump as this is a seperate system to the AYC Diff fluid

Is there any fluid in the Bottle in the boot? if so check that its not filthy black, then check your pump connection?, then if all else fails have the AYC pump circuit bled up

Probably means the AYC pump is toast.

Very common failure sadly - it usually means it can't make the correct operating pressure and no matter how much bleeding you do - it won't pressurize.

You can sometimes fix it by changing the pressure switch. You can get ones from RogerRally and they are adjustable, I think it's only a temporary fix though because it generally means the pump is on it's way out.

Just to clear up an old thread, To prevent any confusion as the whether an adjustable type switch is a cure, or a cover up, I now hire out a pressure tester Gauge, to check if the pump is still putting out a usefull amount of pressure to be able to operate the diff effectively, before fitting another switch.

RogerRally== A mate has an evo 6 and me and him fitted a new AYC switch that you supplied, he has changed fluid as the light was on in warm temps, with that and the switch all is good. just wanted to say that the instructions you supplied with it are excellent and made the job easy.. good stuff
