pinto tuning?

Default pinto tuning?

how do people rate the 2.0L/2.1 pinto found in mk1 escorts? is it easily tunable? good power made easily? really considering on as me next car

Yes its a superb engine, however for the cost of a huge spec pinto you coudl have a even better lighter duratec in there.

It depends how far you want to go with it and how much you have to spend tbh

Guy who builds my engines just built one that gave 200lb ft and its still a 2 litre due to regs. (on Track and Roads r/r too)

You can't beat the sound of a screaming pinto, I just couldn't stomach the fuel bill so I sold my old one

are carbs that juicy then? what makes the pinto so special as its still thought of as a good engine, cheers

it was a cossieee on ebay that got me thinking, but i know you have to spend loads on transmission tunnel, 4/6 linking the rear end, transmission etc

Correct

Carbs are not great for fuel economy, tb's are FAR better but obviously more expensive.

there was a cossied one on ebay today went for £6400 nothing major spec wise, standard rear end etc but i loved it, but mine would have had to be sold 1st as no space
