Default scooby coolant bleeding

hi my m8 has a wrx import scooby an it keeps over heating...we took the thermostat out an found out it was not openin so left it out an tryd it but its still gettin wayy to hot an was jus wondering if theres any special way of bleeding the system...ots jus had all new headgasket aswell...any advice will be Grate thx

Just run it up to temp with the header cap off and the heater on full. Nothing special.

well we tryed that an its fine on tick over wen the caps only on half way but wen u put it bk on tight the red light cums bk on??
an wen u jus potter around an cruise at lke 30mph an then give it a lil blip the temp gauge goes up from like 80-110 in seconds...it has ally radiator on...the temp gauge isnt standard its a greddy 1 an the original 1 has been disconected. thanks

Some thermostats are double acting... when they are closed they direct the coolant round certain parts of the engine then when they open, the coolant follows a different path.... thats the basic theory anyway.... I was told in a training course never to remove a stat, as it can cause more probs than having a faulty one.... just a thought...

nah the thermostat wouldntopen atall tested it with hot kettle water an left it for ages but didnt move atall...i herd it was ok to run without it in but jus had to let the car warm up a bit longer b4 driving...

You'd be better off wedging your stat open and putting it back in I'd also have your water pump checked

Fill very slowly, takes circa 7.5 litres from dry ( a little less as the heater core will have some )

Ensure the rad overflow pipe isnt blocked, which could trap air ( rad to header tank )

If need be, remove top hose while filling, then when water comes out, re-connect.
