cosworth (non-turbo) in a sapphire
How easy is it to drop the 24v cosworth engine in to a sierra sapphire? Obviously the loom and engine will need to be changed but anything else??
Is engine a straight swap or is there alot of changes to be made?
Thanks

I'm Finding My Feet Here Now
Not really much to do at all mate, the one on the left of my sig is 24v, iirc engine drops straight on the mounts, mines 4x4 so it needed a sump from a non 24v V6 sierra 4x4 to fit, fuel lines end up on the other side, and gearbox is manual, mt75 internals with front case changed to t9 i think!
Have a butchers round this site, its run by my mate who specialises in 24v conversions, handy place for info.

Good luck

Straight swap. The enginemounts line up with the xmember.
Gearbox mounts (MT75) is straight swap as well.
Ask away m8, my RWD 24v mkII Sierra is nearing completion.
What you planning? RWD or 4x4? genuine RWD V6 MT75 are quite rare so you'll need a hybrid box made up. (front casing of the 4pot MT75 so you get rid of the transfer box and rear casing with the 2.9box internals) I don't think (I'm almost sure) T9 internals will fit a MT75. Besides, T9 internals will turn to goo on the 24v's torque in no time anyway if you are a bit too enthusiastic on launch. I'm afraid my box won't last too long either.

Thanks again for the help and comments. I would fit engine and loom myself so it would just be the cost of actually buying the stuff. I'll start searching i think
