Urgent help - Cossie just died on me!!
I was just cruising home to cool the engine down about 40, had lights fogs and main beam, road angel and stereo on quiet. It died completely - no power at all. Couldn't even put on my hazards!!!
What fuse is likely to have blown, and where is it?
Luckily was only a mile from home, so been towed back now.
I hate this thing at the moment, nothing but trouble!!

as said check around your clutch cable!but also check your wiring from your positive side on your battery make sure no wires have melted here!specially the small ignition feed one!there was a rework for these years ago from ford!

All these probs you are having are standard cossie probs when you start to run a bit more power and create a bit more heat.
Take you time and go round the whole engine bay and protect everything that needs protected.

Check fuse link wires (3 of them) at +ve terminal of battery, and also check your ECU and fuel pump fuse in the engine loom. (These should be behind your ECU cover panel, of they could be under the dashboard in the passenger footwell depending on loom configuration.

Right, just had a look and there's a blown fuse in a bank of 3 for the fuse link wires (see Karl's post further up) next to the battery. It is shorting out confirmed by the multimeter, between the bank of fuses and the chassis. Can anyone say why?

Right, the fault I think is in the main power wire that goes between the battery and the rest of the car, starter motor excluded. It is shorting out somewhere after the fuse as the positive side of the loom is shorted to the chassis. There are no obviously melted cables anywhere!!
Its probably a chafed wire somewhere, any common places it could go?
Anyone had this before?
