Default Machining pistons

to lower compression ratio.

Pro's and cons please.

Also how much machining would be required to lower comp to 6.9:1 on a standard 4x4 YB piston?

Cheers peeps.

My engine is @ 7.2:1 but i think if i was to do it again i would opt for a high comp engine around 8:1

Well with the mapping capability of the top tuners today you are always going to get more power from a high comp engine' Not saying there is anything wrong with low comp (mine is) just see it as the way forward

Get this done properly, by someone who can do all the maths with the rest of your engine to work out the true comp ratio, as if you take too much off you can't go back, and will possibly weaken the piston

It will all be done properly mate if I take this route, Im just wondering what pros (if any) and cons there are over buying proper low comp pistons.

It may stay standard comp yet, Im just looking at other options really for now.

Ern what cams are you going tobe running if your going T4 just if you need to have valve pockets and piston machining it might be as cheap and a lot easyer just to buy low comp pistons.
